The Rev. Berma Blaine Yerkey, 87, of Maysville, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Nov. 26, 1917, in West Union, he was the son of the late Ernest Yerkey and Rebecca (Stutler) Yerkey. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline (Ellifritz) Yerkey; two brothers, Blair Yerkey and Brooks Yerkey; and one sister, Cledith Stickel.
He is survived by his wife, the Rev. Carol V. (Cosner) Yerkey; two stepsons, Bradley Pancake and Louie Pancake, both of Antioch; one stepdaughter, Marlyon Lyon of New Creek; two stepgranddaughters; and one brother, Ernest "Ernie" Yerkey of Canton, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted Jan. 19, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.
Military graveside rites were accorded by the combined veterans organizations of Grant County, JROTC and the Honor Guard from Fort Belvoir, Washington D.C.
