Mosie Yancey, 94, of Smithville, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Calico Rock.

Born October 2, 1917 in Oxford, Arkansas, he was the son of Hubert Lindsey Yancey and Pernettie Francis (Neal) Yancey. He was a naturalist and enjoyed the woods, hunting, fishing and trapping. He was known for raising coon dogs and having a mink ranch. He was an avid wood worker and a member of Ring Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Douglas Eugene Yancey of Milton, Florida; nine grandchildren: Jimmney Yancey, Cinderella Yancey, Patricia Bunn, Virginia Yancey, Rhonda Musick, Scott Yancey, Marie Yancey, Melissa Yancey and Malinda Yancey; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Bethel Owens of Oxford and Marie Lindsey of Calico Rock; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eolia Senith Owens Yancey; his parents; two sons: Alton Wayne Yancey and Carlos Paul Yancey; and one brother, Benjamin Harrison Yancey.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Parsley Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Guthrie, Brent Barnes, Allen Estes, Jimmney Yancey, David Owens and Danny Lindsey.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
