Morris married Sarah Bowen on July 2, 1873 in Kalammo, Eaton, Michigan.

Lake Odessa Wave, 22 Oct 1931

Another familiar figure of our village has made his last trip to the store or post office where his feebleness of recent years has been noticed as weeks went by. Maurice E. Keith has been a man of quiet faithfulness attending to his duties as strength permitted.

He formerly lived at Howard City where he and his wife taught school. They purchased a farm near Nashville where they lived until about thirty years ago when they purchased a home here and moved to Lake Odessa.

He was for many years closely identified as an official of the Congregational church here and was always faithful to his work for the church.

He has written insurance for many years. His wife died several years ago. He leaves one daughter and a few distant relatives.

The Keith home has been a refuge for homeless, dependent, or semi-dependent people until late years, his daughter Mrs. Mary Slosson giving nearly all of her time to the care of others in the home.

The funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon, Rev. George J. Start, his pastor officiating. Burial was at Lakeside.

Mr. Keith was born June 1, 1848, being 83 years of age.
