MRS. KIERSTEN JENSON, AGED 96, SUCCUMBS

Pioneer Utah County Resident and Mother of Andrew Jenson Dies at Pleasant Grove

Kiersten Jenson, relict of the late Christian Jenson, and as far as known the oldest woman of Utah County, died at the residence of her eldest son in Pleasant Grove, Utah County, Utah, last evening at 6 o'clock, aged 96 years, 5 months and 9 days.

She was born in Denmark, July 7, 1821, emigrated to Utah with her husband and two children in 1866, crossing the Atlantic the ship "Kennilworth" and the plains in Andrew H. Scott's company. The family located at Pleasant Grove, where she had resided ever since.

Mrs. Jenson was highly respected by all who knew her. She leaves three sons, Jens C. Jenson of Pleasant Grove; Andrew Jenson, assistant historian of the Mormon Church of Salt Lake, and Joseph J. Jenson of Richfield, Sevier County, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband died in Richfield over nineteen years ago.
