Jackie "J.C." Clark, 67, of Chandlerville died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at St. John's Hospital. He was born August 30, 1935, in Newmansville Township, Cass County, the son of Herschel and Blanche Dearing Clark. He married Verna Joanne Milstead in 1957 in Tallula. Mr. Clark was a 1953 graduate of Chandlerville High School. He first was employed by the Illinois secretary of state's office for several years and later by the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Petersburg. More recently, he was employed for 22 years by the Village of Chandlerville. He had served as an IHSA certified umpire and basketball official. Survivors: wife, Verna; three brothers, H. Glen (wife, Roberta) Clark of rural Petersburg, Donald H. (wife, Shirlee) Clark of Virginia and Richard A. (wife, Sharon) Clark of rural Jacksonville; a sister, Sylvia Ann (husband, Thomas) Palmer of Springfield; three nieces, five nephews; 10 great-nephews; and five great-nieces. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home in Chandlerville. Burial: Chandlerville Cemetery.
