Word has been received that T/3 Francis X. Burke, 29, of 632 South Avenue was killed in action April 25 while serving with the seventh army in Germany.

Sgt Burke, son of Joseph O. Burke and the late Margaret Mackey Burke was graduated from Cathedral Academy and before entering service March 18, 1943 was in business with his father. He trained at Camp Atterbury, Indianapolis, Ind and went overseas Oct 27, 1944.
