Goldie passed away peacefully at her home on October 7, 2011 from cancer. She was born August 12, 1921 in the St. John, WA area. Goldie is survived by her son, Wayne (DeEtte) Thomas; grandchildren, Derrick (Michelle) Thomas, Darla (Todd) Neumiller, Darlene (Jose) Monterroso, Angelique (Rob) Joseph, Anna (Andrew) Brown, Michele (Mark) Davis; nine great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; brother, Cecil Fitzwater of Reno, NV; sister, Nell Hamilton; niece, Julie Binderim; great niece, Angie (Jason) Saunders and their children Taylor, Kailey, and Katie; great nephew, Shaine (Andrea) Binderim and their children Mackindra, Sami, Tyler, and Ashley; LouAnn Pierce; and the birthday girls. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dick and sons, Bob and Dan Thomas. Goldie married Dick in 1976 and they lived in the Spokane area most of their lives. She was a waitress at the Shack and the Pine Shed and loved her work. Goldie was a favorite with all her customers. She was a very loving caring person and always wanted the best for everyone and always thought of others before herself. Goldie was full of poise, grace, and love. She loved her home and gardening, however, the last several years were spent taking care of her beloved husband Dick. Goldie loved getting together with family, friends, and her birthday group. And she loved her cat, Sheba. Visitation will be Monday, October 10 from 12 Noon until 8:00PM at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N. Division Spokane, WA. A "Celebration of Life" will begin at 10:00AM Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Riplinger Funeral Home followed by interment at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests to honor her with a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children PO Box 2472 Spokane, WA 99210-2472. The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support especially, Hospice of Spokane and Riplinger Funeral Home. "Our dearly beloved you have taken a part of our hearts with you. We will miss you so much and we all love you dearly."
