Prince Hulon Preston, Jr

U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, was admitted to the Georgia state bar in 1930 and commenced to practice law in Statesboro, Georgia. He was a member of the Georgia State House of Representatives, (1935-38). With the advent of World War II, he enlisted as a Private in the US Army in 1942 and rose through the ranks to Captain, being discharged October 13, 1945. After the war, he was elected judge of the City Court of Statesboro in 1946, but did not serve, having been elected to as a elected as a Democrat to the Eightieth Congress and to the next six succeeding Congresses, serving (1947-61). He died shortly after his last term at age 52.
