Barbara Anne was born June 4, 1966, at Fort Gordon, Ga., to James L. and Linda Marie Gideon. Her mother preceded her in death.
Barbara devoted her life to caring for, teaching and helping children, her own and those of others. Children were her life's work and she was a positive force in the lives of many, who will miss her deeply.
Let her rest now in God's grace, as she has earned.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony Firkins of Declo; her children, Brandon, Brett and Elisabeth; her brothers, Timothy Gideon of Ingleside, Texas, and James Roy Gideon of Missouri; her sisters, Tamara Lynn Matsen of Sparks, Nev. , and Lorna Lynn Quintero of Killeen, Texas; her stepmother, Myong-Cha Gideon and father, James L. Gideon of Killeen, Texas; her grandmother, Elisabeth Lyles of Fresno, Calif.; and her nephews and nieces, Michael and Gregory of Twin Falls, Tabitha, Tiffany and Jennifer of Ingleside, Texas, and Destiny of Missouri; and her father and mother-in-law, Austin Lyle and Carma Firkins of Declo.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at the Rupert Cemetery. Officiating will be Bishop Steven Darrington.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen Funeral Home in Burley.
