Flora Matheny Ables, was born October 12, 1877, in Athens OH. She died August 5, at Smithburg, WV, age 54 years. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband George W. Ables, one daughter , Mrs. Vivian Vanscoy, West Union; two brothers Emlin Matheny of Quincy, IL, and William Matheny of Plymouth, IL. Also four grandchildren, Flora, Dora, Russel and Helen Vanscoy of West Union.
She was a member of the Blandville M. E. Church and a devout Christian, a kind, loyal, devoted mother, wife and friend.
Funeral services were held at the Smithburg, M. E. Church Monday at 10:30 A. M. Rev. J.J. Smearman of the U. B. Church , and Rev. Sampson of the M. E. Church officiated. She was laid to rest in the Archbold Cemetery by Osborne and Hall, of West Union. (transcribed form a newspaper clipping with 1931 penciled on the top of it.)
