Elam - After many months of pain and suffering, the spirit of Mrs. Martha E. Elam winged its way to an eternal rest, from the home of her son-in-law, S.P. Grigg, No. 609 South Sixteenth street, at 2:50 o’clock, Friday afternoon, July 18, 1913. Mrs. Elam was truly a mother in Israel, being 72 years, 7 months and 14 days of age. Her husband preceded her to the glory land some years since. She leaves six daughters, Mrs. J.W. Montgomery, Mrs. S.P. Grigg, Mrs. O.W. Kizer, Misses Ruth, Sue and Margaret Elam and one son, W.J. Elam.
Prayers at the home as above at 9 o’clock this Saturday evening, conducted by Rev. B.J. Reagin.
Leaving via L. & N. railroad at 7:15 o’clock Sunday morning, the funeral and interment will take place at Beech church in Sumner county at 10 o’clock.
