He died at 2 Bouverie Place Folkestone. Robert was born 17 July 1805, and baptised on 7 August 1805 in Minster-in-Sheppey, Kent, the son of William & Elizabeth BOARER. He married Sarah on the 8 Oct 1833 in Folkestone,Kent.
In 1841 he was a grocer in the Old Kent Road, Southwark, London, but by 1851 they had moved to Folkestone in Kent, where Robert was a lodging house keeper at Upper Sandgate Road, Folkestone. Between 1861 and his death he was described as a land owner and Justice of the Peace, and in the 1860s he also served as a Town Councillor. Sarah and Robert lived at 5 Bouverie Place, Folkestone in the 1860s, then at 2 Bouverie Place from the 1870s until the time of their deaths. There were no children.
He was Mayor of Folkestone from 1856-58 and 1861-2. According to the inscription on the stone he was " A liberal promoter of education. A staunch advocate of civil and religious liberty. He tried to do his duty was just and feared not. "
