Born in Valley View, Feb. 12, 1927, he was a son of George W. and Minnie E. Rothermal Bixler.
He was retired from Litton Industries, Williamsport. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former R. JoAnne Maurey; a son, Brett A. Bixler of Bellefonte; a daughter, Rebecca L. Bixler of Jersey Shore; two grandchildren; a brother, Bruce L. Bixler, and a sister, B. Lila Welker, both of Valley View.
Funeral services were held in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Jeffrey L. LeCrone officiating. Interment was in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meow House, 314 Deckman Hollow Road, Williamsport, PA 17701. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore, was in charge of arrangements.
