Norman R. Clizer, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the age of 94.
He was born January 7, 1917 on a farm in Northwest MO, eight miles NW of Savannah, in Andrew County.

He graduated from Savannah High School in 1934, and from the University of Missouri in 1939. He worked for the University of Missouri Extension Service as a County Agent and later as Extension Poultryman prior to entering the commercial field. He worked with Hales and Hunter feed company as Regional Sales Manager in SW Missouri and NW Arkansas in 1948-50, prior to moving to Chicago as an associate in the Poultry Feeds of Hales and Hunter. He later joined Allied Mills in Chicago as Poultry Feed Sales Coordinator. Allied Mills manufactured Wayne Feeds. After several years he joined Anderson Box Company as General Manager of Anderson Systems located in Evansville, IN, manufacturer of Poultry and Hog Houses in the eastern United States. The Clizer family moved to Springdale in 1974 where he became a realtor with Homestead Realty. He was one of the first real estate agents to become a permanent member of the Million Dollars Sales and Listing Club in 1980. He retired after 17 years in Real Estate, and continued to volunteer helping to secure funds to build the Arts Center of the Ozarks and the Shiloh Museum. He was active in Friends of the Arts Center of the Ozarks, a member of First United Methodist Church of Springdale, and a member of Springdale Kiwanis.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gayle in January of 1999.

He is survived by two children, Cheryl Esarey and husband Mike of Greenville, NC, and James Michael Clizer of Springdale, AR; two grandchildren, Daniel Ryan Esarey and wife Jennifer of Greenville, NC, and Keith Allen Esarey and wife Fabiola of Alexandria, VA; and three great grandchildren, Olivia Dale Esarey, Jade Alexandra Esarey, and Alexander Phillip Esarey.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, October 10, 2011 at Springdale First United Methodist Church.
