Irwing Frank Fausek Sr. was the third child born to Alexander V. and Anna Fausek. His life was spent in St. Louis and he was co-founder of MECO (Modern Engineering Co.) in 1911 and the Acetylene Gas Co. in 1928. He was a pioneer in the development of the oxy-acetylene welding torch.
