Ronald LeRoy "Sonny" Lewey, 69, of Mountain Home, formerly of Litchfield, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Hillsboro, the son of Kenneth M. and Edith LaVonne Tannehill Lewey. He married Dorothy Marie Kellenberger in 1953 in Litchfield. Mr. Lewey was a quality control supervisor at McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis for 43 years, retiring in 1997. He was part owner of Sweet 21 Ice Cream Shop in Litchfield in the 1970s, a bus driver for Litchfield Community School District 12 and a certified boat safety instructor. He was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Litchfield Little League Baseball. He was a member of Rod and Reel Club of Mountain Home and past member of Litchfield Boat and Ski Club. Survivors: wife, Dorothy Marie; three sons, Kenneth (wife, Dawn) Lewey of Frisco, Texas, Dennis (wife, Jennie) Lewey of Hillsboro and James Lewey of Litchfield; a daughter, Deborah (husband, John) Brest of Marine; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren three brothers, Donald (wife, Sue) Lewey of Las Vegas, Charles (wife, Peg) Lewey of Ona, Fla., and Lawrence (wife, Gloria) Cayce of Litchfield; and three sisters, Jane (husband, Melvin) Hoppe of Villa Ridge, Mo., Margaret "Corky" (husband, Leon) Green of Litchfield and Karen (husband, Tom) Calvert of Atlanta. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Plummer Funeral Home, Litchfield, the Rev. Ted Schelich officiating. Burial: Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield.
