Martha M. "Penny" Allen, 69, of Paradise, died at home of natural causes on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. She was the wife of James "Ed" Allen.
Penny's first husband, Clair W. "Snap" Denlinger preceded her in death in 1998.

She worked for the United States Postal Service in the Kinzers post office.
Penny attended First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg where she served as a Deacon.

She was a former member of the Chris Penn Chapter # 455 O.E.S., the Lancaster Cedarettes and the P. J. Bair VFW Post #7418 Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, annual cruises and loved spending time at their cabin "The Lazy Den."

Born in Lampeter, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Margaret (Bonsal) Phenneger. Penny is also survived by two sons, Scott married to Shelly Denlinger of Ronks, Tim Denlinger of Argos, IN, two step-daughters, Judy married to Gary Buchanan of Las Vegas, NV, and Joyce married to Ned Trout of Quarryville, three step-sons, Clair W. Jr. "Bud" married to Linda Denlinger of Lampeter, Allen married to Rose Denlinger, and Glenn married to Missy Denlinger both of Strasburg, step son-in-law, Chuck husband of the late Joan (Denlinger) Groff of Ronks, 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary married to Melvin Herzog of Ephrata and Ruth married to Lew Denlinger of Paradise and a brother-in-law, Tom Allen of Paradise. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. The funeral is Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at 11 AM in the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, 101 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
