" The will of Jacob Leonard of Bridgewater husbandman, datd Dec.14,1716 presented Dec.19,1717 left land in Woster to two oldest daughters, Abigail Washborne; and Susanna Hill, names three younger daughters, Experience,Mary, and Sarah, two sons Solomon and Jacob;my present wife Susanna Leonard their mother. It is curious that although the phrase my present wife in his will suggest an earlier wife, Jacob did not mention a son Joseph, or Josephs'heirs either in his will or in any deeds." The Mayflower Society accepts descent through this Joseph Leonard although evidence at this printing is skimpy"
