John Raymond Pillion

US Congressman. He moved to Lackawanna, New York, in 1907, graduated from Cornell University in 1927, was admitted to the bar in 1928 and commenced to practice of law in Lackawanna, New York, in 1929. He served as city court judge (1932-36), corporation counsel and tax attorney, City of Lackawanna, (1936-41), a member of the New York State Assembly (1941-50), plus president and treasurer of Bison Storage and Warehouse Corperation Buffalo, New York, (1945-53). In 1953, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-third Congress and to the next five succeeding Congresses, serving until 1965. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law until his death at age 74.
