of 1909, Atherton Chaffee Private in Capt. Azariah Wright Militia - a Minuteman Company
of Westminster, during the Revolutionary War.

"Atherton Chaffe was born in
Rehoboth, Massachusetts, April 7, 1715, and died in Westminster, Vermont, March 4, 1778.
He married (1) in Ashford, Connecticut, Abigail Squire (?), who died there, February 12,
1755. He married (2) in Ashford, March 25, 1756, Rachel Fuller, who died in Westminster,
July 29, 1803, where she was buried. She spent her last days with her son Constant. In
1738, Atherton Chaffe of Ashford........
