Patrick H. Shields, 86, former resident of Wells township for many years, died yesterday at his home at Perham, Minn., Ottertail county, and funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock from the Catholic church at Dent, Minn.

Mr. Shields moved to Wells township in 1883 and lived there for about thirty years, when he moved to Perham. While in Wells, he was chairman of the town board, and a member of the school board. He was born at Waukesha, Wisconsin, September 4, 1846.

He is survived by one brother, Judge M. M. Shields of Faribault, a sister, Mary Shields, Faribault; and nine children, seven daughters, Mrs. John Sullivan, of Shieldsville, Mrs. John Welsh, Faribault, Mrs. Dennis Welsh, Erin, Mrs. John Sullivan, Regina, Saska., Canada, Mrs. Mary Barrows, Cherokee, Iowa, Miss Elizabeth Shields, Perham, Mrs. Milton Greenwood, Perham, and two sons, Charles and Martin, both at Perham.

Among those who will attend the funeral from Faribault are Mr. and Mrs. John Welsh, and sons, Linus and James, Mr. and Mrs. John Sullivan, Delbert Greenwood, Judge Shields, Francis Shields and Mrs. Dennis Welsh.
