Janelle Chastain Parker - TOCCOA - Janelle Chastain Parker, 88, formerly of Savannah, died Wednesday, Oct 5, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Toccoa, Ga. She was born in Athens, Georgia, and was preceded in death by her husband, James Parker. She was retired from the Department of Family & Children Services, having worked as a Case Worker. She was a member of Mill Shoal Baptist Church in Royston, Ga., and had formerly attended Taliaferro Baptist Church and Burkhalter Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters, Vonnie Parker Farrar, of Rincon, Ga., and Marie Parker Harbuck (Joe) of Toccoa, Ga, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Crossroads Baptist Church, with Dr. Charles G. Cooper, Sr., officiating.
