On Feb. 22, 1873, Mary was united in marriage to Charles M. Fessenden at Algona, Kassuth Co., IA. Charles was born May 30, 1840 in Pompey, NY, son of Nathaniel Fessenden and Mary Ann Roberts. He died Oct. 19, 1915 at Holcombe, Chippewa Co., Wis., aged 75 years, 4 months and 19 days and was buried in the Bloomer Cemetery, Bloomer, WI. He was a Civil War veteran and his military style gravestone there is inscribed "Chas M. Fessenden Co. A 6 Wis. Inf." Their children were:
