She was born on April 10, 1924 in Lawrence County, Ohio to Alonzo Lonnie and Lillian St. Clara (Morgan) Thompson. She grew up in the Ohio and West Virginia areas. She married the late Jess Willard Martin on June 23, 1940 in Cabell County, West Virginia. They moved to Tuscan, Arizona and lived there several years, moving to Oklahoma in or about 1970. She worked alongside her husband in most all his jobs and raised eight children. She was a retired housewife.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Jess Willard Martin (1984); parents, Alonzo Lonnie and Lillian St. Clara (Morgan) Thompson; two sons, Sidney "Lee" Martin (2010) and Virgil Wyatt Martin (2005); son-in-law, Doyle H. Davis (2007); two granddaughters in 1974 and 1978; grandson in 2008; sisters, Lola Vance and Emma Jean Barker; brothers, Lucian Thompson and William "Bill" Thompson.
Cynthia is survived by three sons, Tommy Martin and wife, Vivian, of Tuscan, AZ, William Henry "Butch" Martin of Florence, AZ, and David Martin of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters, Lorna Davis, Betty James and husband, George, all of Tuscan, AZ, and Joy Brown and husband, Ray Colson, of Maysville, OK. She also leaves behind four sisters, Beulah "Bay" Thompson of FL, Helen Barker, Betty Ann Fields, and Mary Hayes, all of OH; three brothers, Robert Thompson and wife, Pat, of PA, Eugene Thompson and wife, Mable, of GA, and Joseph "Joe" Thompson of OH; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
