Race car driver. Born June 3, 1878 (note: there are two birthdates published; the other is Jan.29,1878) in Wauseon OH. Began racing on bicycles in 1896, then in 1902 began racing motorcycles. Ran the first 100mph lap at Indy. In 1903, he was the first man to drive a mile in a minute. Winner of the 1914 Cactus Derby from Phoenix to Los Angeles.
