Some of their winning horses won the Preakness Stakes, Withers Stakes, The Saratoga Special Stakes, Travers Stakes, Belmont Stakes and the Toronto Cup Handicap.
In 1902, her father Richard Jr. purchased an estate at Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina, where in 1910 he built a mansion and maintained a stable and a blacksmith shop.
This was were Louisa and her sister Marion spent most of their young lives.
Sadley in 1926 the home burned down and the property was sold and her father would die in 1929. Louisa never forgot South Carolina, and this was where she chose to live out most of the rest of her life.
