When Melissa was a young girl she became very sick. It was determined she was dead and a Black woman servant of the family began to prepare her for burial. The woman felt Melissa wasn't dead and placed a mirror under her nose. A small amount of moisture appeared on the mirror and she proclaimed "MISSIE is not dead." Thanks to the concern and love of this woman, Melissa lived many years and had 5 children. Without this woman's intervention, I and many others would not be here today!
Because of the Church addition Melissa was not buried beside her husband, William Joel Hines.
