The family is found in the April 27th 1910 census with Charles B 45, Mary L 40, Edthe C 10, Carle K 8, and Earl 3 (KRAMER CHARLES B 45 M W PA PA PHILADELPHIA 33-WD PHILADELPHIA 1910; Series: T624 Roll: 1405 Page: 220).

In 1920 Charles 54 wid, is found with Edith 20, Carl 17, Earl 14, and his mother, Mary 79 noted as widowed (KRAMER CHARLES 54 M W PA PA PHILADELPHIA 43-WD PHILADELPHIA 1920; Series: T625 Roll: 1644 Page: 9). In 1910 he was a Steam fitter and in 1920 he was an Engineer Clerk. In 1930 he was a sanitary engineer for a bank.

The 1930 Census lists the Kramer family as Charles, owner, 65 and widowed, with son Carl 28 and his daughter-in-law Ruth 22, son Earl 25, and son George 21. All and their parents were born in PA. This is the first instance of another child and it is named George. Whether this was his son or some other relative is undetermined (1930; Census Place: Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Roll: 2136; Page: 17B; Enumeration District: 1083; Image: 509.0; FHL microfilm: 2341870).

His wife having died and left him with three small children, Charles Kramer raised the children with the help of his parents and other relatives. Edythe, his oldest child, wrote of her father in saintly terms: "There never breathed a more perfect and wonderful man... In spite of advice to the contrary ... he kept his three children together, supervised in loving kindness our almost every action, educated us, and was a daily example of a great christian and self-sacrificing, loving father. ... a spiritual influence..."

The burial record of Charles B. Kramer indicated that he died of a Cerebial Hemorage [sic], was 68, and died at Philadelphia on July 29, 1933 (Ancestry.com.
