US Congressman. At the age of 18, he was ordained a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church, joined the Baltimore Conference, served as pastor at Warriors Mark, Jersey Shore and at Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. In 1855, he was elected as an Opposition Party candidate to the Thirty-fourth Congress, serving until 1857. Declining to be a candidate for reelection, he served as a pastor in various congregations until he retired in 1888 and moved to Ohio.
