He was born Aug. 9, 1909, in Greenleaf Township, Sanilac County, the son of Walter and Susan (Race) Anthes.
He was united in marriage to Josephine "Marie" Wright Sept. 21, 1940, in Cass City.
Anthes, who attended Mizpah Missionary Church, retired from General Cable in 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lucille Bush of Caro, and Mrs. Edwin (Alice) Goetlesben of Bad Axe; 2 brothers, Paul Anthes of Conway, Ark., and Harold Anthes of Waterford. One son, Larry, preceded him in death Feb. 12, 1986, also, one sister, Lena.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at Little's Funeral Home, Cass City, with the Rev. Richard Culp of Brown City and the Rev. J.T. Mabe, pastor of the Mizpah Missionary Church, officiating.
Burial was in Elkland Cemetery, Cass City.
Memorials may be given to the heart fund.
