Arbie Samuel Lambson, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away on July 20, 2002.
Arbie was born on Feb. 19, 1923 to Ethel Young and Apolles Lambson in Sandy, Utah. He graduated from Jordan High School. In August 1945 he met and married the love of his life, Loa Adams Wright.
Arbie served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II as an officer in the 12th Armored Division. He was a Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Presidential Citation and two Battle Stars. His tour of duty included the Battle of the Bulge in Europe.
Arbie was a plumbing contractor and had the opportunity to train several young men in that profession. He retired in 1981. Since 1968, Arbie was a lifetime member of the Hunters Lion's Club. He was awarded several honors, including: Lion of the Year 1981-1982, White Cane Salesman of the Year 1985-1986 and the Stillman Edler Memorial Award 1989-1990. He was very dedicated to the goals of the club.
Among those who will miss him most are his wife of 57 years Loa; children Ilona Pierce, Merlin (Sharon) Wright, Judy Osborne, Linda (Chuck) Worthen and Debbie (Lloyd) Hampton; 25 grandchildren, 22 great-grand-children; one brother Kenneth (Jean) Lambson; and three sisters Leona Ottensen, Carol (Earl) Cummings and Betty (Shirl) Kemp. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law.
Services will be held on Friday July 26, 2002 at 12:00 noon at the Market Street Chapel, 3590 S. 2820 W. Lehman Avenue, West Valley City. Friends may call at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., on Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the Market Street Chapel. Interment: Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
