Kenneth served as a Staff Sergeant, 7th Ferrying Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Onondaga County, New York prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on March 19, 1942 at Fort Niagara, Youngstown, New York. He was noted as being employed in the construction field and also as being Single, without dependents.

He died in the "Line Of Duty" as a result of a "Non Battle" related incident during the war.

Lt Rodney A. Van Nimwegen, 22, of Alton Iowa and Staff Sgt Kenneth Brandt, 24, of Jamesville, NY were identified by the Seventh Ferrying Group's public relations office today as the fliers killed yesterday in the wreck of a light bomber.

Sergeant Brandt was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Brandt, 401 Tecumseh Road, Town of Dewitt, and had served in the Army since his induction March 19, 1942.

He was born in the Town of Dewitt May 28, 1909 and before entering service was an interior decorator. He trained at Keesler Field Miss and later was sent for advanced training to the Bell Aircraft plant at Niagara Falls.

In November 1942 after qualifying as an airplane mechanic, Sergeant Brandt was transferred to Great Falls, Mont., to serve with a ferrying group of the Army Air Forces.
