Abraham Dale was a patriot of the American Revolution, Corp. Dale served on the VA Line under Capt. Henry Fauntleroy. Certificate of pension issued Dec. 12, 1842.

Abraham Dale was married to Mary Weakley (1770-1846) on 20 Dec 1787 at Fayette Co, KY. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Weakley & Elizabeth Redding of Woodford Co, KY ["History of Woodford County, Kentucky" by William Edward Railey, William E. Railey)]. The Dales remained for a few years in Fayette County, where Abraham was enumerated on a 1789 Tax list.

An 1800 tax list showed Abraham had removed to Woodford County, KY; where he was enumerated for the next three decades. Census interpretation:
1810 Abram Dale 45> & Mary 16-25, 7 children.
1820 Abram Dale & Mary both 45>, 4 children.
1830 Abraham Dale age 70-79 & Mary age 50-59, 5 children.

Abraham and Mary are said to be the parents of thirteen children (not my research).

Although he has no headstone, local lore indicates that Abraham Dale was buried here at Cherry Grove. The Sons of the American Revolution have placed a plaque at Cherry Grove Cemetery to honor his patriotic service.

Note: His wife Mary (Weakley) Dale died 22 Apr 1846 in Clay County, MO (not my research).
Evidence to support this death location: Ancestry.com confirms that in 1850 Phebe (Dale) Darneal, Abraham & Mary's daughter, was enumerated in Clay Co, MO with her husband Edward and family.
