DIED SUDDENLY AT SALEM CLINIC
Death came suddenly to Mrs. Sara A. Farmer, widow of the late Richard Farmer, whose death occurred seven years ago, at the Salem Clinic hospital at 6:50 o'clock Tuesday evening. Two weeks ago deceased had the misfortune to fall at her home north of Lisbon near the township line road in Fairfield Township, and broke her shoulder. She was taken to the hospital, where she was recovering nicely, and a short time before she expired had been walking about and visited with her son, Hugh who made his home with her.
Deceased was a lifelong resident of this vicinity and was most highly respected. She was born on May 19, 1849 in Wayne township, a daughter of the late Jacob and Charity Baker Rice, and one of thirteen children, (15, 2 died in infancy - AJO) but five of whom survive. In early life she was united in marriage with Richard Farmer and since her marriage had lived in the vicinity of her late home. She was a member of the Lisbon Presbyterian church.
Surviving are four sons and one daughter, Edward Farmer, near Columbiana, Paul Farmer, near Leetonia, motorman on the Y an O., Hugh Farmer, who lives on the old home farm, and Harry Farmer, North Jefferson Street, Lisbon, and Mrs. Lulu Barber, Washingtonville. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Margaret Anglemyer, near Leetonia, Mrs. Catherine Whitacre, of Leetonia, Mrs. Elisabeth Coburn, of Los Angeles, Cal, Henry Rice of Detroit, and Henry A. Rice, of Smith's Ferry.
The funeral will take place from the home at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon with the Rev. J. M. Cotton pastor of the Presbyterian church here, in charge. Burial will be made in the Lisbon Cemetery.
