"Ms. Pam" was known to a generation of children in West Monroe as a Mothers' Day out Director, VBS teacher and nursery volunteer at FBC-WM; a teacher at Children's Garden Pre-School; bookkeeper at Claiborne Elementary School; and, most importantly, as Elaina and Mary Allison's mom. Pam was very involved in her community serving at various times in the PTA/PTO of George Welch and Claiborne Elementary Schools; the Monroe Jr. League; the Cancer Foundation League; and, the Kappa Delta Sorority Alumni Association; and West Monroe Dixie Youth Softball, among others.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Elaine Weems and Lawrence "Larry" Weems; and brother, Lawrence "Butch" Weems. She is survived by her husband, Jay Mitchell; daughters, Elaina and Mary Allison Mitchell; sister, Nicole Weems O'Bryant and husband Billy; niece, Sarah O'Bryant; nephews, Chris O'Bryant, Hunter Weems, Jarrod Sellar, and Jordan Sellar; grandmother, Alline Skains Weems; and special cousin, Kim Osbon and husband Allen.
Pallbearers will be Chris O'Bryant, Jarrod Sellar, Jordan Sellar, Ken Osbon, Blaine Taylor, and John Ford. Honorary Pallbearer will be Sam Bourland.
Visitation will be held from 4:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West. Monroe.
Funeral Services for Pam Mitchell, 45, of West Monroe LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 6, 2011, at First Baptist Church, West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating and Committal Services to follow at the Hasley Memorial Pavilion.
