J. D. Jones, Jr., 80, of Sanger, passed away on Tuesday, October 04, 2011 in Denton, Texas.

He was born on October 15, 1930 in Gribble Springs, Texas to J. D., Sr. and Lorene (Blackburn) Jones. He was a graduate of Sanger High School Class of 1948.He attended Northwestern State College and North Texas State University (now UNT).He served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class during the Korean Conflict. On December 11, 1954, he married Edith M. Herbert and together they made their home in Sanger along with their daughter. He was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a route salesman until his retirement in 1994. Edith preceded him in death on January 29, 1995.On August 19, 1995, he married his childhood sweetheart, Beatrice Monroe in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #418.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice of Sanger; one daughter, Debbie Potts of Farmers Branch; two step-daughters, Bev Gill of Ardmore, OK and Jane Ervin of Fort Worth; one sister, Betty Jo Jones of Dallas and one brother, Bobby Dale Jones of Sanger; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
