Benjamin was the son of David and Feige (nee Ernst) Flazchenberg. He may have been born circa 1881 in the town of Boryslaw in Lwow Wojewodztwa.

Of all the siblings previously listed in this bio we have only been able to confirm Helen Flashenberg as one of the sisters who immigrated to America. Further research is underway to correct the previous errors.

Benjamin married Tillie (Tauba) Rosenbaum on November 1, 1903. He and Tillie were the parents of Bella (a/k/a Rebecca, Becky and Belle, 1904), Bessie (a/k/a Blanche, 1905), Isidore (a/k/a Irving, 1909), and David (1916).

One of Benjamin's first jobs in America was as a wagon driver in the 1900s. By the 1918 he was employed by the Rosenbaum Manufacturing Company, 33 Bleecker Street, New York City as an iron worker. Rosenbaum Manufacturing made gas and steam powered irons used by garment manufacturers and tailors. Benjamin continued in this line of work. In 1942 he was employed in a similar position at The New York Pressing Machinery, Inc. a manufacturer of pressing equipment to the dry cleaning and garment industry. Benjamin's Death Certificate states that his usual occupation was that of a Drill Presser.

Sometime in the late 1940s Benjamin went to live at The Towers Nursing Residence at 65 Hillside Avenue in New York City. He remained there until his passing while a patient at Jewish Hospital in New York City.

A memorial service was held at Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York City on August 5th, 1950 with burial at Mount Hebron Cememtery on August 6th, 1950.

Benjamin was a member of The Rosenbaum Society

MEMORIAL MANAGER'S NOTE: As of 11/12/17 the documentation for Benjamin's siblings is under review. There are some discrepancies between the vital records from American sources and those from JewishGen. Once verified the correct names of his siblings will be listed. At this point we can only confirm his sister Helen.
