Claudine M. Whiting, 75, of the Town of Binghamton, died Monday morning, May 15, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy M. Whiting; and her parents, Hugo and Mary Matych. She is survived by her children, Susan and Bruce Van Dusen, Brooklyn, Mary and Jeff Puckett, San Antonio, Tex., Cathleen and Stephan Stenger, Long Valley, N.J., John and Deborah Whiting, Willbraham, Mass., David and Marilyn Whiting, Libertyville, Ill.; her grandchildren, Margaret and Peter Van Dusen, Evan and Michael Whiting, Jonathan Whiting, Eric, Kurt and Holly Stenger, Erin and Chelsea Puckett; a brother, Paul J. Matych, Fla. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Binghamton, and volunteered at the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. She retired as Internal Auditor for BOCES. She graduated from North High School and Broome Tech. She was a den mother and involved at Brookside Elementary School PTA. Claudine was a very active grandmother who enjoyed traveling to be with family.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday at 10:30 a.m. and at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery, Kattelville. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Claudine may be made to Broome Community College Foundation, Roy and Claudine Whiting Memorial Fund, P.O.
