Jewel Dean Elliott was born on February 6, 1937. She went home to our Lord on October 1, 2011. She was born to Louis and Stella Elliott in Dallas, TX. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Seagoville, TX for a number of years and most recently, Northside Baptist in Garland, TX. Jewel was married twice, first to J Lesslie Thedford , then to David McLean. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Billie Stearman, Thelma Elliot, brother, Frank Elliott, sons, Lesslie Franklin and Vernon Louis, and daughter Ninette Thedford. She is survived by: daughters, Loretta Andrews and husband Leon, Patricia Mullens, Wilma Barnes and husband Scutter, sons, Billy Thedford and wife Mary, & Lesslie Thedford. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Leon Andrews, Christopher Mullens, Sheree Russo, Bobby Clark, Emmett Gotcher IV, Bethany Barnes, Rickey Gotcher, Courtney Barnes, & Corey Gotcher. Also, five great-granchildren, Christopher Kervin, Caleb Nance, Gavin Gotcher, Sebastian Gotcher & Laura Mae Russo. Jewel was a strong Christian woman and had a long hard road for many years with her health. She was a fighter but God knew she was tired. He took her by the hand and gave her rest for her weary body. She will be greatly missed by all and we know we will see her again someday in Heaven. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
