Patrick O'Malley Sr. died at the home of his son, Lawrence O'Malley at Chambers, on Wednesday.
Mr. O'Malley was 88 years of age and had been in poor health for some time.
Funeral services were held in the Catholic Church Friday morning at 9 o'clock, Father Windolph officiating.
Patrick O'Malley was born in Ireland, Jan. 1, 1829. In 1860 he married Mary Roach, to which eleven children were born, four of which are still living. In 1870 they came to America and took up residence at Scranton, Pa., where they lived until 1878 when they moved to a homestead near Creighton. Five years ago they moved to Creighton, where they resided until the death of Mrs. O'Malley two weeks ago. Since then Mr. O'Malley has been staying with his son, Lawrence at Chambers.
Of the immediate family there remain four sons, Pat of Creighton, Peter of Casper, Wyo., Lawrence of Chambers and James of Winner, SD.

While still living in Ireland, Patrick farmed. In 1870, the family left for the United States, embarking at Liverpool on a steamship. They settled in Pennsylvania, where for eight years he worked as a shipping clerk in a glassware and crockery store.
They, then, came west to Nebraska and filed on a homestead. He farmed two hundred and eighty acres of land, raising grain crops and livestock.
