Atkins Brown Rich, born to Samuel Rich & Polly Lombard Rich - Sept 9, 1849, Wellfleet/Truro, MA.

He died of Yellow Fever in the 1867 epidemic in Galveston, Texas.

His stone in Wellfleet should be considered a cenotaph, as he is buried in Galveston, Texas. Records from Galveston show a burial in the Masonic Cemetery, which has since been lost due to erosion from hurricanes.

Possible probate records in Galveston County, Texas mention a wife named Janey or Jenny. Family history lists his wife as "A Southern Lady".

Ongoing research : determining Atkins B Rich's Civil War service - possibly in the U.S. Navy.
