Obituary: William D. THOMPSON

WILLIAM DUNKLE THOMPSON, a native of Bedford, former merchant and postmaster of Crucible, died of a heart attack Monday evening at his home in Millsboro.

Mr. THOMPSON, a son of FRANK FYAN and EMILY [DUNKLE] THOMPSON, was born July 1, 1878 in Bedford. For 29 years he was a manager of the Cumberland Supply Company Store at Crucible and postmaster there as well as being a member of the Cumberland Township school board. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Carmichael, a member of the Free and Accepted Order of Masons at Brownsville and a charter member of the Carmichaels Rotary Club.

He was married to Miss FLORENCE (KISER) AGNEW on June 16, 1901, who preceded him in death April 6, 1935. They were parents of four children of whom three survive. W. ROBERT THOMPSON, Waynesburg, Mrs. W.L. BAILEY, Waynesburg and Mrs. J. S. TAGGART, Brownsville. A son HAROLD AGNEW THOMPSON died in 1908 at the age of 6.

In addition to the children mentioned, Mr. THOMPSON is survived by his wife, Mrs. MARTHA SIMMONS THOMPSON, whom he married NOVEMBER 21, 1945.
