Walter, who resided in Kent County, Delaware, served as a Corporal in Company C, 328th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War I.

He "Died Of Wounds" received during battle in France during the war and was the 1st casualty of World War I from the greater Dover, Delaware area.

The " American Legion Post 2 " in Dover, Delaware is named in his honor!

Son of Henry H. and Clara A. Fox.
