John Flowers, 79, of Bethesda, Ohio died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007 at his home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1927 in Barnesville, Ohio a son of the late Forest and Marie Henderson Flowers.

John retired from Consolidation Mining. He attended Ebenezer Baptist Church of Bethesda, a member of the Bethesda Senior Citizens, a life member of the Bethesda Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Bethesda American Legion. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Max Flowers.

Surviving are: his wife of 57 years, Gladys Stubbs Flowers; daughters Jodie Tschappat, and Jill Mann, both of Bethesda; a son Mike Flowers of Centerville, Ohio; five grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; a sister Ruth Zellers of Barnesville, a brother David Flowers of Worthington, Ohio.

Friends will be received Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 322 North Main St. Bethesda, Ohio where services will be held Friday, 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Brian Bees officiating.

Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
