Hancock had resided in Cottage Hills for the past 14 years and prior to that had made his home for 26 years in Alton.
His wife, Mrs. Mary Hancock and three daughters, Mrs. Eddie (Eunice) Laird of Cottage Hills, Mrs. Ben (Opal) Rexford of East Alton, and Mrs. William (Elsie) Doerr of Alton-Jerseyville Road survive him. He also leaves four granddaughters, and a great-grandson, and a sister Mrs. Anna Smith of Indianapolis, IN.
The body is at Streeper funeral home where friends may call after 6pm today. Funeral rites will be Saturday at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be Valhalla Memorial Park.
