LEAH V. MILLS . . . Funeral services were held today in Prairie Du Sac, for Leah V. Mills, 94, who died October 8, at the Maplewood Nursing Home there. Service took place in the Gruver-Ellestad-Van Deventer Funeral Home of Prairie Du Sac and burial was in the Savanna Cemetery. The Rev. Eldor Fruehling of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Prairie Du Sac officiated at the services.

She was born 11 Aug 1894 to George and Effie Blessing Poffenberger of Mt. Carroll. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Edith) Kahl of Green Valley, Ariz.; one grandson; two great grand-sons; and a great grand-daughter.

She was preceded in death by husbands James Bonnoff (sic) and Alvin R. Mills; three sisters and one brother.

Leah married on 10 June 1914, to James M. Bannoff, in Rock Island County, Illinois.

After the death of James Bannoff, Leah married Alvin "Allie" Robert Mills, who was born 11 Aug 1885 and whose parents were Thomas A. and Anna (Myers) Mills. Leah shows with Allie in the 1940 census (Savanna, Illinois).

The descendants of Leah Poffenberger and James Bannoff had this cemetery plot ready for her when she passed, since there weren't any children between Leah and Alvin, but there was a child (Edith) between Leah and Jim.
