SPARTANBURG, SC-- Rev. Allen of 112 Wrighton Ave., Spartanburg, SC parted this life on June 4, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
He served for over 60 years as a Pastor for the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. His last assignments before retiring were St. Luke C.M.E. Church in Tryon, NC; Russell Tabernacle C.M.E. Church in Spindale, NC and Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church in Cross Anchor, SC. Upon retiring, he served as assistant pastor at Bunton Institutional CME Church in Spartanburg, SC; while in good health. He also helped to form Tryon Community Church in Tryon as an outreach ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Burns Allen and his two daughters; Surriffa Allen Stone of Galax, VA and Rhonda Allen Linder of Spartanburg, SC and three grandchildren. He is also predeceased in death by his son John Terry Allen.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1pm. Burial will be in the Good Shepherd Church Cemetery, Tryon, NC. Rev. Barbara Philips, Officiating.
