Joseph Aicher Dies

Joseph Aicher, 85, resident of Woodburn and vicinity for 60 years and a prominent farmer, died Sunday morning, Dec. 4, at the home of a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Emma Aicher, at Mt. Angel where he had been for the past few weeks.

Mr. Aicher was born in Germany March 29, 1863 and came to the United States and to Woodburn 60 years ago. He operated a farm east of town until failing health forced him to retire.

Survivors include one son, Frank Aicher of Woodburn, 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His wife, two sons, Henry and Sebastion Aicher and a daughter Theresa Hart, preceded him in death.

Recitation of the Rosary was Monday evening at the Ringo chapel and funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Luke's Catholic church. Interment was in St. Luke's cemetery beside his wife, Katherine Aicher, who died in 1927. Pall bearers were grandsons, Alfred and Norbet Aicher, Robert and Albert Wellman, Paul Aicher and Alois Humbert, Mass was said by Rev. Boniface Aicher, a grandson, Rev. Francis Hanley conducted the service.
