Virgil Ragan, 67, of 1125 Concord, formerly a well-known country music entertainer, died at 12:40 p.m. in St. John's Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Ragan, who as Happy Jack headed the Ozark Wranglers, had lived most of his life in Springfield. He was a member of Grant Avenue Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife, Marie; two sons, Ronnie, of the home, and Roy, 2100 North Clifton; two brothers, Lloyd, Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Clarence, Richland; a sister, Mrs. Velma Garrett, Kansas City; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Virgil Ragan, 67, of 1125 Concord, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Thieme Chapel with Dr. Blake Westmoreland officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Richland.

Mr. Ragan, a well-known country music entertainer, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Hospital after a long illness.
