Robert W Ackerman, 79, Meyersdale RD 4, died Feb, 11, 1996, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Jan. 28, 1917, in Fairhope, son of the late Eson and Marie (Saylor) Ackerman. Survived by wife of 56 years, Leoda (Knepp); a son, David, and his wife, Pamela (Hendrickson) Ackerman of Eckert, Md.; 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher. Also survived by 3 brothers: Grant, Glenco; Elwood, Meyersdale RD 4, and Russell, Cleveland, Ohio. Member of Zion Lutheran Church. Veteran of World War II, having served in France and Italy. Retired salesman fro Clappers Building Materials. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday at Leckemby Funeral Home, where service will be held at 11am Wednesday, with Rev. Randall marburger and Rev. Richard Melrick. Interment, Union Cemetery.
